The Volunteer Center believes that through volunteer service people have the capacity to enrich their own lives and improve the quality of life in their communities. An active volunteer community creates an environment in which all people can thrive.
The primary role of the Volunteer Center is to educate, promote, recruit and refer volunteers to meet the needs of the community. The Volunteer Center strives to:
- Connect people with opportunities to serve
- Build the capacity for effective local volunteering
- Promote volunteering
- Participate in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers to meet local needs
- Build a better community
